Black Rebel Motorcycle Club "Transistor Six" Directed by: Sean Schiavolin
Regarding the "Hate The Taste" film, our director Sean came up with the concept to have a force field encapsulating the band who are playing in a 60's type of time-warp. While the modern day audience outside at Psychfest were in present day and shot on digital. Half of us were out there filming on 50 year old Super 8 cameras and the other half were shooting on digital cameras.

"Happy If I'm Wrong" is the first video of a 5 part live in-studio performance series we shot at Stinson Studios. Our goal in creating this video was to capture the essence and energy of our live performance, while capturing the audio in the most optimal medium. Video shot by Cameron Gott, Brandon Aguilar, and Austin Wells. Audio mixed by David Beck and Brandon FitzSimon.

Heart of Stone "Harvard of the South" (Live at Orb Recording Studios)

This acoustic version of Heart of Stone was recorded live at Orb Studios in Austin, TX as part of a series of four songs from the bands EP that would be filmed in the same space, but each have a unique look and feel.

I drew inspiration from Bastille's Oblivion live at Capital Studios, and some Ed Sheeran, Passenger, and Bon Iver live studio performances. Then surrendered to the emotion and vibe of the song to inspire & inform each song's direction.

Heart of Stone in particular felt moody yet edgy on a foundation of a driving beat and kick then explodes at the end. The goal was lingering shots, crossfades, slides, and slow motion (that never made the cut. Real time felt better and created some interesting effects like warped drum sticks). The camera movement, feel, and direction - were shared among several operators who focused on certain band members and moments of the song while dancing out of each others frame.

This is my favorite of the four! The rest can be viewed here: vimeo.com/bongaj

Harvard Of The South is a band from Austin, San Marcos and Brooklyn. Its members also play in the bands Blue October, Hurricane Bells and Longwave
