GOBI "Born to Dance" Directed by: Brad Montesi
G-O-B-to the mother fuckin'-I makes music for people who like to dance. So of course the song for their video is called "Born to Dance". That references Michael Jackson. And Bill Paxton. Of course. When every type of GOBI fan shows up to a studio to try out their moves to a new GOBI track, what else could happen than a good, old-fashioned dancecapade on the level of Dancing with the Stars. Dig it.

CAPYAC "Speedracer" Directed by: Ursula Barker Assitant Director: Jinni J
For "Speedracer", I initially approached CAPYAC about shooting a kind of avant-garde video in an abstract blank space. I wanted the video to be very visually stimulating, utilitzing intense opposites with a tri-tone aesthetic. We chose the color extremes of black and white, with an accent color of yellow, to produce a very stimulating image. Simplicity and form were the main things we wanted to focus on, as CAPYAC presents themselves as a band whose music one should dance to. I made the video with huge help from JinniJ, my assistant director. She, CAPYAC and I collectively produced and did the art direction for the video, with the huge help from local choreographer Billie Secular. Billie created all of the movements in the video from the dancers in black, and really has a fresh approach to body movement. We thought it worked very well with the CAPYAC image--- something strange and different. The main inspiration for the video came from photography and videography that inspires me as an artist on a daily basis. Stark contrasts and abstract space specifically with bodies in postmodern photography are a huge influence on my work.

J Ray, with the help of One Riot One Ranger and some amazing friends, put together a house party for the Dance! White Girl Official Video shoot. It was a ton of fun and even cooler because it was all shot on a Blackmagic Cinema 2.5K Camera!

We want to thank everyone who supported us in making this video!

Tori Vasquez "Keep In Mind" Directed by Bongani Mlambo
Keep In Mind is a visually poetic music video weaving soulful pop vocals, hypnotic sounds, and interpretive dance that follows the journey of five everyday people from emotional chaos to clarity after a really bad day. That's the official word; my mission & idea was to incorporate dance (I love it and used to bust a few moves back in the day) into a music video and let then dancers interpret the song and how they would feel: frustrated, dejected, or anything else and just let it out.

I shot about two passes, normal and off speed, with each dancer after a brief hello and chat at their homes and at my assistant directors pad. Then filmed Tori in a studio in Austin, then mushed it together in the edit.

My favorite part is that I got inspired to try get my twin sister in the music video somehow all the way in Cape Town, South Africa after we wrapped filming in Austin & Dallas. She found a friend to shoot, I gave them a plan, told them what gear to use, and crossed my fingers. Upload to the interwebs a few days later and boom, it turned out great!

Tori is based in Austin and is awesome!
